What I’ve learned from working with organizations and tending bees is that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Team members, leaders, and organizations benefit from bringing their best self to their work and identifying challenges and solutions together. Self-awareness, collaboration, and diverse perspectives result in better outcomes. In a word: synergy.
This approach has been successful whether I was leading sailors in the U.S. Navy, or delivering complex IT solutions to large healthcare and infrastructure engineering clients. It was true managing projects and inspiring action in global health and in improving programs and managing contracts for the U.S. government and nonprofit clients. The success of the business or organization depended on the people who were delivering its services or products and strategies informed by diverse perspectives.
I founded HiveMinded Consulting, a woman-owned small business, to bring that synergy and expertise to both individuals and organizations.
I hold an MS in Psychology with an Industrial-Organizational concentration from Kansas State University and a BS in English from the United States Naval Academy, am a member of the International Coaching Federation, and am a certified project management professional. I have had the pleasure of coaching, mentoring, and managing hundreds of people and bring to my work more than two decades of experience working for and in support of nonprofit organizations and boards, five Federal agencies, a variety of commercial companies including a global leader in pharmaceutical development, and multiple scientific and technical consortia.
